OEM Back Cover Sticker for Sony Xperia X Performance

I bought a Sony Xperia X Performance over 3 years ago as a discontinued but (I think genuinely) unused item for a fraction of its original price. After 2 years of use the battery became quite poor, rarely lasting a full day even with just mild to moderate use. I replaced it with a Samsung whose battery is easily user-replaceable (should be the law!) but kept the Sony as a spare with a PAYG sim, kept in the car. A couple of months ago, noting that the Sony battery was worse, I obtained a replacement as I rather like the phone even though it has no 4G calling and 3G being phased out. Replacing the battery was not difficult, but fiddly, the most difficult part being removal of the old battery as the pull tabs to release the glue that holds the battery in place both broke. (Note: also important to position new battery accurately as connector strip is very short)
I had hoped to re-use the original glue edging and had removed the back after carefully heating and used an 'anti-clamp' device to do so in a slow, controlled way but part of the glue edging did not release properly, some of it stretching and some breaking. I reckoned that the loss of waterproofing was not important for this now spare phone and that the protective case would ensure the back didn’t fall off. However, although that is true, I was concerned how loose the back was when not in the case as even where the glue was intact (over 75% of it) it had lost stickiness, so ordered this Back Cover Sticker from Witrigs.
The price was very low though with expensive delivery but the overall cost was borderline acceptable for me. If still using as my main phone the cost would have been fine.
I waited a few weeks before sealing the back permanently so I could check the new battery was definitely ok. Using the sticker was easy though it is critical to position it precisely. There were no instructions but it seemed better to stick it to the phone first rather than the back. The thicker plastic backing on the side that sticks to the phone's back plate was much more adherent compared with the thinner side that sticks to the body of the phone and without care I could easily have lifted and damaged the new glue strip but fortunately didn't. Should probably have warmed it first.
Overall, very pleased to have replaced the battery and retained the waterproofness of this old but still desirable phone.
