How to Solve Problems: Unresponsive Touchscreen, Screen Flickering and Malfunctional Backlight. 

It is reported that Huawei P9 has issues of unresponsive touchscreen and screen flickering. And some have reported that after they install the screen, everything works but the display doesn't show up. The screen is very dim, the backlight doesn’t turn on.

Solutions:

A. Wipe cache  Try to wipe the cache partition to see if it makes a difference. Turn off your Huawei P9, press and hold the volume up and the power button together. As soon as the screen turns black, release the keys. Wait for several seconds, you’ll see EMUI on the screen. That means you’ve reached Huawei P9’s recovery mode. Press volume down button to select “Wipe cache partition” and press power button to confirm.

 

B. Overheating issue  In some cases, the problem of the touch screen and the display is caused by overheating. We need to open the back cover and disconnect the battery from the motherboard for a while. Then reconnect the battery and check whether the problem solved.

 

C. Flex cable defect  In most cases, the problems are caused by the defect of LCD screen flex cable. Breakage of flex cable will cause short circuit and open circuit.
